How computers deside what to read for us

I guess everybody used at least once in his life the link which suggests you what other people checked out as well, who looked for the same book as you did. Well in the future these algorithms will determine which type of news you will be fed with. A bit scary scenario... but I guess possible soon enough if you believe this article "People Who Read This Article Also Read... By Greg Linden".
The next article is about the most published author in the history of the planet according to the authors statement. In "He Wrote 200,000 Books (but Computers Did Some of the Work)" you can read about the university professor who came up with an idea of a computer algorithm which produces books... and I must admit the track record of 200.000 books is astonishing.
A colleague of mine just showed me this brilliant piece of software. SCIgen is a program that generates random Computer Science research papers, including graphs, figures, and citations. Have a go yourself here.
